About North Carolina

For The Traveler Links

North Carolina sits on the eastern seaboard of the United States, between Virginia (to our North) and South Carolina (to our South). Easily accessible by plane, car or boat, our visitors flock to the beaches, mountains, cities, golf courses, museums and restaurants here. Charlotte is one of the most important financial cities in the U.S., and with the large number of banks with headquarters and key offices in the city, it’s easy to see why. Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park make our state capital a hub of intellectual activity.

In our mountains, along our coast and in the Sandhills and rolling hills of the Piedmont, you’ll find smaller towns and a relaxed pace. Whether you’re visiting our lighthouses along the coast, the Biltmore House and restaurants in and around Asheville, driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, taking in a NASCAR race in Charlotte, spending a day on one of Pinehurst’s storied golf courses or taking in some culture in one of Winston-Salem’s art museums, North Carolina has what you’re looking for.
