A statewide trade association, North Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association (NCVRMA), is dedicated to the ongoing development of the professionals and standards of the vacation rental industry, as well as the economic well-being of North Carolina’s tourism industry, of which we are a lynchpin.
Members of NCVRMA come from the mountains, coast, and Piedmont and Sandhills between. Many members are from resort destinations and manage properties owned by individuals from all over the U.S. NCVRMA members vary in size from those with just a few rentals to those with 1,000+ in their destination. Our Supplier members support rental management firms with products and services like linens, phone, web hosting, and marketing.
NCVRMA provides continuing education opportunities to our members, fosters member support and networking opportunities, and acts proactively with regards to legislation and regulation of our industry. Through our efforts, legislators and regulators have come to know the impact of our industry on the state’s budget and can clearly see the value and high return on investment that comes from a strong vacation and tourism industry. Our efforts have resulted in several legislative and regulatory changes that have positively impacted our members statewide. These changes include the Vacation Rental Act, which defined the standards for vacation rentals and addresses fiscal responsibilities for management agencies including security deposits, trust accounts, evictions and refunds in the event of hurricanes and other weather events; as well as Security Deposit Waiver Insurance, credit card convenience fees, beach re-nourishment, flood insurance and school calendars. Our ongoing efforts to make our position known will continue to result in positive changes to laws, rules and regulations that govern business and the vacation rental industry in North Carolina.
NCVRMA works with a variety of associations across the state, including: the North Carolina Travel Coalition; the North Carolina Association of REALTORS®; the North Carolina Real Estate Commission; The Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development; The Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals; regional Visitors Bureaus; The North Carolina Travel Industry Association; and the national Vacation Rental Managers Association.
